Tempus Two has launched ‘Lighten Up’ and new range of lower alcohol and reduced calorie wines, which are available for selected independents now.

The range comprises Prosecco, Rosé and Pinot Noir, all 750ml with an ABV of 6.8 per cent, with Tempus Two promising the range does not compromise on quality or flavour.

Tempus Two winemaker, Andrew Duff, said: “Lighten Up is perfect for those who are looking to lighten their alcohol intake and reduce calories but still want to participate in the occasion. Enjoy a bottle at an afternoon picnic, long lunch, sporting event, birthday dinner or work function.

“It’s often perceived that lower alcohol wines lack depth however that’s not the case with Lighten Up. We’ve got over 20 years’ experience developing this style of wine so consumers can feel confident they are getting a premium quality wine that’s full of flavour.”

The no-and-low alcohol trend is gaining momentum in Australia as consumers look for a healthier lifestyle and put more thought into moderating their alcohol consumption. Lighten Up has more than 30 per cent less alcohol and 30 per cent fewer calories than a standard bottle of Tempus Two Varietal Series.

The alcohol is removed from the wine using the latest spinning cone technology, which uses a lower temperature that is ‘gentler’ on the wine and allows it to retain more varietal fruit character, aromatics and taste without needing to harvest the grapes before they are ripened to ensure low alcohol.

As well as the lower alcohol and calorie content Lighten Up is also environmentally focused as it is produced with 100 per cent of winery energy sourced from solar and wind power as well as 100 per cent biodegradable paper stock used for the labels and recycled cartons.

The range is now available nationally in Dan Murphy’s, selected independents and online for an RRP of $20.
